Kansas City Chiefs are the 2023 World Champions!
Super Bowl LVII exceeded every expectation of it being a thriller game with two powerhouses from the AFC and the NFC fighting at State Farm Stadium to win the coveted Lombardi Trophy. The Chiefs won 38-35 in the final minute of the last quarter as Harrison Butker kicked the winning field goal when the game was tied. They were better than the Eagles in every aspect, but the Philly-based team put up a great fight, which made it an interesting watch.
Nick Sirianni couldn’t outsmart Andy Reid, who has more experience than the Eagles’ head coach in playing the Super Bowl. Philadelphia couldn’t get their running game ongoing and was stuck with Jalen Hurts throwing the football in the air. But they had a great first half and continued the momentum in the second half as well, but were defeated by luck because they weren’t the team with the last possession.

Andy Reid proved that he is a Hall of Fame coach. The 64-year-old head coach defeated his old team – the Eagles and became the third person to do so after Jon Gruden and Weeb Ewbank. Andy Reid took over as the head coach of Kansas City in 2012 and gave the struggling team a complete makeover and made them ‘the’ team to beat in the AFC.
In the decade he has been in Kansas City, the Chiefs have made it to the playoffs nine times with five AFC Championship games, three Super Bowl appearances, and winning two of them. Andy Reid’s record with the Chiefs is 117-45, with a winning percentage of 0.722 making him a top-tier coach. There were rumors and speculation going around the league that he might retire after this season. Reid finally put the rumors to rest and gave a definite answer after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.
While talking with NFL Game Day host alongside Patrick Mahomes, the head coach was asked if he has considered retirement as he is a few days away from his 65th birthday. Reid replied, “I think I am going to hang around.” That’s great news for all the Chiefs fans. Andy Reid has created a great environment for players in Kansas City. As the team lost their main offensive weapon, wide receiver Tyreek Hill before the start of the 2022 season, Reid and his coaching staff did a commendable job of signing wideouts from all over the league and filling the Tyreek Hill-sized hole in their offense.
In a conversation with the Washington Post, Reid said that he knows he isn’t getting any younger but still enjoys coaching the Chiefs. “My heart, though, is young. I still enjoy doing what I’m doing. I got asked that 50 times here. Finally, I just go, ‘Whatever, man. Whatever.’ … I’m good with what I’m doing right now. … Listen, if they’ll have me, I’ll stick around.”
After winning Super Bowl LVII, the Chiefs are already favored to win the next Super Bowl. Let’s see if they can run it back for a second time and actually win the Lombardi Trophy or not!
