The Super Bowl is one of the biggest events in the country and brings in millions and millions of viewers every year. It is the biggest stage for football players to showcase their talents, and it is the most coveted title for NFL players. Apart from the game itself, the Super Bowl halftime performance has a separate fanbase, as popular artists will take the stage to give a mesmerizing show to the fans.

The halftime show has featured many popular artists over the years, including Michael Jackson, Eminem, and Beyoncé. It is a big opportunity for singers to reach more audiences. But it seems like pop-music sensation Taylor Swift has no interest in performing on the big stage as she’s busy selling out concerts on her Eras Tour.

According to a report from HITS Daily Double, the Grammy Award-winning artist has declined an opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl, citing uncertainty. Swift is now busy focusing on her next album (1989 Taylor’s Version), which is set to release in October. She is also busy with her sold-out concerts on her Eras Tour. So basically, Swift doesn’t seem to have any blank space in her calendar to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.

This is the second time that the 33-year-old singer has allegedly declined an opportunity to perform at the NFL title game. Last year, Swift reportedly declined the offer due to a scheduling conflict. Later, the Caribbean-born singer Rihanna ended up rocking the stage while pregnant with her second child. It will be interesting to see who ends up performing at this year’s halftime show.

Along with Love Story singer Taylor Swift, the popular hip-hop artist Lizzo‘s name was also considered for the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show. But her name was dropped after the sexual assault allegations against the singer came to light.

According to multiple reports, three backup dancers have filed a lawsuit against Lizzo, claiming sexual assault. She reportedly forced the dancers to eat bananas from the private parts of naked s*x workers in a nightclub. Apart from the lawsuit, at least six other people have also accused the famed artist of sexual assault and fat shaming.

Lizzo has denied the allegations in a lengthy Instagram post. But the damage has already been done. Her concerts were canceled, and she also reportedly lost the opportunity to perform at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.
