On Sunday, the 2-time league MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs managed to defeat the Brock Purdy-led San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl game in Las Vegas. As expected, Travis Kelce‘s girlfriend Taylor Swift attended the game with her entourage including music artists Lana Del Rey, Ice Spice, and Hollywood actress Blake Lively.
Unlike the previous two Super Bowls, the game ended smoothly without any controversial calls from the officials. However, that didn’t stop fans from conspiring that the league rigged the game in favor of the Chiefs to please Taylor Swift.
So, what led to fans start a conspiracy theory about the game being rigged? In a short video that went viral on social media, the 14-time Grammy Award-winning singer could be seen having a conversation with the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
The video went viral on social media and accumulated more than 6.9 million views within just hours of posting. Check out the footage of their interaction attached below.
As previously mentioned, there weren’t any controversial penalties in the game. However, there were some controversial non-calls in favor of the Kansas City-based football team. The Chiefs’ offensive lineman Donovan Smith got away with multiple holding calls while going against the 49ers’ pass rusher Nick Bosa. However, Bosa didn’t get a single call despite warning the referees about this even before the game.
Apart from the non-calls on the Chiefs’ offensive line, there weren’t any controversial calls, despite the referees calling several penalties from the start of the game. In the end, the Chiefs managed to secure a 25-22 victory in overtime with Mecole Hardman catching a game-winning touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes. Taylor Swift and her friends celebrated the victory from their VIP suite.

Nonetheless, Swift wouldn’t be worried about the negative talks. She would be busy celebrating her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s third Super Bowl victory of his career. The Chiefs players would be busy for the next few days while celebrating their second-straight championship ring.
