Tee Higgins has nothing to fear; he has his mom to protect him from the horrors of the digital world. The social media found that out and some more when a section of the troll army tried to poke fun at the Cincinnati Bengals‘ wide receiver.
Higgins hasn’t had a great year thus far, catching only 32 passes for 436 yards and 2 touchdowns before Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. His Achilles heel has been the dropped passes, which have cost the Bengals a few scores on occasions.
A few angry fans could not stop themselves from venting their frustration on X (formerly Twitter) when, late in the second quarter, a review nullified Higgins’ reception. The 24-year-old’s mother, Camilla Stewert, could not believe that the referee had overturned the decision and posted,
No fu***in way. He be right in their damn faces.
An X user was quick to respond to her. They pointed out the pass was “dropped,” but Stewert wasn’t having any of it.
Like ya mama dropped yo glass.she wrote, followed by a middle finger emoji
And thus the floodgates were opened, and several of her followers started to voice their opinions. A user wrote, “The ball is “on the damn ground anytime it goes his way.” She replied instantly, “Like your bi** as*.”
Stewert, after the Bengals won the game, coming back from a 14-point deficit, wrote,
My lame as* son had himself a game. Come haters, let’s see y’all dumb a**es in my comments. Whose first.
Higgins had a decent outing. He caught the ball four times and gained 61 yards, scoring two touchdowns.
More responsibility on Tee Higgins’ shoulder
The Bengals’ eighth win of the 2023 season came at a great cost. Wide receiver #1 Ja’Marr Chase went out of the game with a shoulder injury and did not return. Mike Garafolo reported that the former LSU playmaker had suffered an AC joint sprain.

Garafolo’s report was backed up by CBS Sports‘ Jonathan Jones. He revealed the doctors checked out Chase in the locker room, and later he returned to the sidelines in street clothes. Although he has been banged up several times this season, the 23-year-old hasn’t missed a single game this season, racking up 89 receptions for 1,092 yards and seven touchdowns.
By chance, if Chase does miss out on the next game against AFC North rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers, then Tee Higgins will have to bear his share of the load. Well, he is ready to be the “alpha male.”
For now, he can enjoy a good couple of days with his mom, Camilla. After that, the Bengals will take a plane to the Steel City to take one step further into the play-off contention.
