Russell Wilson's massive deal
The Broncos traded QB Russell Wilson from the Seahawks to change their fortunes and help them to compete in the NFL, but it has gone the opposite way. There’s a big risk involved when signing a huge player like Russell Wilson with his humongous contract, therefore you expect the player to perform week in and week out, but that’s not been the case.
Russell Wilson currently is one of the worst QB in the NFL, if not the worst. The QB has failed to replicate his form from the Seahawks and has failed to impress. The Broncos are 3-2 in the NFL currently and fans are demanding answers from Russell Wilson and HC Nathaniel Hackett.
The Broncos’ recent game against the Colts was a clear example of this situation where the fans left even before OT started. They weren’t bothered if the Broncos were winning or not.
NFL analyst Nick Wright pointed out a similar thing on the “First Things First” that the trade of Russell Wilson to the Broncos can go down as the worst trade of all time. This trade has the potential to cripple the entire Broncos franchise and will result in them losing their fans.
“The Broncos trade for Russell Wilson will go down in NFL history as one of the worst trades ever. This is a franchise crippling disaster.… Right now, the Denver Broncos have the worst QB situation in the entire NFL.” Nick Wright stated on the First Things First show.
Russell Wilson is one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL statistically

Russell Wilson has abysmal stats in the first 5 games of the season and it doesn’t look like he’s going to improve anytime soon. Though he can disappoint us all and go back to his Seahawks form, the stats state otherwise.
Russell Wilson ranks 18th in passing yards per game, 23rd in passing touchdowns, 28th in completion percentage and 20th in passer rating. With stats like this, the Broncos QB doesn’t look like a $245 million franchise-defining QB that everyone hoped.
The stats are one thing, but his lack of awareness and poor decision-making has also cost the Broncos must win easy games. The game against the Colts was a great example of that. Wilson decided to pass the ball instead of running it for 1 yard. That would have allowed the Broncos to opt for a field goal which would have ultimately won them the game.
The Denver Broncos have gambled their franchise future over a big name who has failed to perform. Russell Wilson could see his career go downhill from here if he fails to produce results in the upcoming games.
