“A very poor choice of words,” Tom Brady issues HEARTFELT apology for absurd football and military service deployment comparison
Tom Brady simply finds a way to earn himself all the attention of the media on most days, even when he isn’t playing. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, however, made an absurd analogy recently, for which he copped heavy criticism on social media.
Tom Brady compares returning to a new football season to when a militant is deployed in service and has to leave his family to serve the country. He made these comments during his latest appearance on the Let’s Go!” podcast.
Tom Brady claimed that he has immense respect for the military servants of the country
Ahead of the pre-game press conference for the Week-7 fixture against the Carolina Panthers, he clarified his comments saying that he had himself erred in using the correct words while making the analogy. The 45-year-old also declined to further expand on what was his thought process before making those comments on the podcast.
“Before we start can I say one thing? Earlier this week I made a statement about playing football and the military, and it was a very poor choice of words. I apologize,” Brady said.
“To be honest I don’t really want to expand on it too much,” Brady said. “I have a tremendous amount of gratitude to everyone who served. In the end, we play a game, and the military is defending our country. It’s two different things and I shouldn’t have made the comparison.”
If we look closely at Tom Brady’s current predicament, we might find out the psychology behind him making such an analogy, since his personal relationship with Brazilian wife Gisele Bündchen has gone downhill ever since he decided to return to the NFL.
The quarterback had announced his retirement back in February but rescinded it 40 days later, announcing his return to the league for a 23rd season. According to numerous reports, that sparked a fight in his personal life which has continued to the point that they are considering divorce at the moment.
