WATCH: “It’s like watching LeBron miss a layup,” Cris Collinsworth BASHES Tom Brady for not completing basic pass attempts
Cris Collinsworth could not believe Tom Brady failed to complete one of the easiest passes.
Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time, however, this season happens to be his greatest challenge of all time. In a year where he has had to deal with a lot of setbacks such as his divorce and the legal repercussions of his relationship with FTX. The football field has been one area where Brady has always excelled and found his outlet in.
However, this season has been nothing short of a nightmare for Tom Brady. The quarterback has struggled this season, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a dismal record of 7-8 this season, since their division is the worst in the league, they have managed to hold on tight to their number 1 spot despite their record.
The Buccaneers look entirely different this season, and not in a good way. On the offensive end, Tom Brady’s connection with Mike Evans does not look the same. The duo has failed to connect all year. Chris Godwin is back and is doing his bit to contribute to the offense. Julio Jones has been inconsistent due to his injuries, but his contributions have been significant as well.

The botched pass may not have entirely been Tom Brady’s fault:
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced the Arizona Cardinals last night and were able to pull off a win by a close margin. The final score was 19-16 in favor of Tampa. Though Tampa got the victory, it was a narrow one. There were a lot of plays throughout the game that just shocked fans because of the mistakes they entailed.
One such play happened on a 3rd and 1 play when Tampa had possession of the ball. Tom Brady threw a pass to Russell Gage, who was on the first-down line. It was a bullet pass that Gage failed to grab and as a result, the Bucs could not convert on that play. The broadcaster, Cris Collinsworth, pinned the blame on Brady. Here is what he had to say.
“I got nothing, I mean, this a layup. This is like watching LeBron James miss a layup right here, I don’t know if there’s been some miscommunication… I don’t know what I’m watching.” It’s really hard to pin the blame on Brady. Though the play was an easy one that could have been completed and earned Tampa the first down, it appeared to be Russell Gage’s fault more than Brady’s.
Gage was unable to get into the right position in time and, as a result, the ball slipped out of his hands. Irrespective of this, it was frustrating to see Tampa drop the ball on this pass, as it would have helped them and possibly even score. On the positive side, Tampa did end up winning the ball game.
