In the last few weeks, reports of Rob Gronkowski’s probable return to the NFL to reunite with Tom Brady once again have caught the eye, and it is assumed that Gronk will come back very soon alongside Brady. The legendary tight end first retired in 2019 after winning his third Super Bowl with the New England Patriots, and then came back after a year to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He won yet another Super Bowl with the Bucs and then retired in 2022. Gronkowski has played all his career alongside Brady and if he does play in the future, he intends to do it with Brady only. As per reports, Gronkowski approached the Bucs for a possible comeback but as of now; he doesn’t want to come back this season and wishes to stay retired.

After the Bucs’ narrow win against the Cardinals on Christmas, Brady addressed the rumor of Gronkowski reuniting with him. On the weekly episode of his Let’s Go! podcast, Gronkowski’s potential return, and a possible reunion in 2023 was the talking point. Brady said that he loves Gronkowski more than anyone else and called him his ‘family’. He said that the TE is like one of his kids and whatever he decides, Brady will have his full support.

“I love that nobody loves Gronk more than me other than probably his mom and dad and brothers, but he’s like family to me. He’s kind of like one of my kids actually. So every now and then I got to put him in timeout for misbehaving, you know, for eating paste and stuff like that. You know, whatever he ever decides. I’m sure I’ll be fully supportive,” Brady said.

It is clear that Gronkowski won’t be returning this season and hence, if he decides to return, it will only happen in 2023. Brady has also made it clear that retirement isn’t on his mind and since he will become a free agent at the end of the season, he will be looking for a new team. It is very likely that Gronkowski will also follow Brady, and any team will be happy to have this duo on board.

Brady extending his run with the Bucs and Gronk, joining the team again looks like one possible option while both going to their old team- the New England Patriots is another one. The two can also go to Miami Dolphins since they desperately need a QB and Gronkowski will bode really well with the likes of Tyreek Hill.

One thing is certain, if the legendary tight end decides to unretire in 2023, he will follow Brady wherever he goes and fans may be in for some nostalgia.
