Legendary QB Tom Brady’s 23rd season in the NFL ended in the wildcard round as the Dallas Cowboys demolished the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-14 on Monday night. The Buccaneers’ offense was under par for most of the season, but against the Cowboys, they had their worst possible outing. With this, the Bucs finish the season with an 8-10 record and Tom Brady may just have played his last game in the NFL as nothing about his future is confirmed yet.

After the Cowboys’ successful drive in the first quarter, Brady was leading the Bucs well, and it looked like the home team will level things up with Dallas, courtesy of an easy touchdown. Things didn’t go according to the plan as Brady, who hadn’t thrown an INT in the end zone since 2019, uncharacteristically got intercepted and things went downhill for the Bucs.

In the first half itself, QB Dak Prescott led the Cowboys well with three perfect drives that resulted in three touchdowns. At halftime, the Cowboys took an 18-0 lead and Brady’s frustration just kept increasing. He wasn’t able to land throws and looked clueless while orchestrating a drive. It was almost impossible for him to move the ball around and the scoreboard reflected this.

During one of the incomplete passes, Brady decided to play dirty and, for no reason, went aggressive on one of the Cowboys’ defensive players and kicked him. It looked very similar to soccer’s side tackle, but it was totally unnecessary. Brady should’ve gotten a penalty, but the incident didn’t catch any of the referees’ eye.

NFL Twitter reacts to Tom Brady’s dirty play

NFL fans were very upset by Brady’s dirty play. The fans consider him the GOAT and such petty incidents don’t go by with the stature of someone like Brady. The majority of the fans slammed him for such ‘unsportsmanlike’ behavior and even questioned why he wasn’t penalized for this.

With this loss, Tom Brady and the Bucs have been eliminated and will look to better this performance next season. They had a decent run this season as they won the NFC South division, but they could’ve played much better against the Cowboys. Whether Brady will stay with the Bucs next season, move to another team, or retire, only time will tell.
