The San Francisco 49ers have been a fun team to watch this season. Even the great Tom Brady has enjoyed watching them this season. They have clinched their division and are 11-3 so far this season. The Niners have the best record in the NFC and are tied with the Baltimore Ravens for the league’s best record. However, as much as Brady enjoys watching the Niners, he still has a grudge against them.

Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He was passed on by several teams, including the Niners, who passed on Brady six times during the draft. The Patriots eventually took a punt on him and it turned out pretty well for everyone. Brady though, still has some friendly angst against the Niners for passing on him during the draft.

Brady told Christian McCaffrey in the latest episode of his Let’s Go! podcast:

I still watch the Niners and those uniforms still bring back a lot of great childhood memories. They passed me up six times in 2000, so f*** them and that whole staff that kept me out because I had a chip on my shoulder for a long time.

Brady ended his career with seven Super Bowls. He won his first six titles with the Patriots, whereas his final title came in 2020 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He retired as a Buccaneers earlier this year and since then has started his own podcast and is also focused on expanding his business portfolio.

Tom Brady believes that Christian McCaffrey should win the league MVP award

The MVP debate this season has been an interesting one. There are multiple candidates in the race for the coveted award, but most of them are quarterbacks. One non-quarterback who has had a tremendous impact on his team’s success is the San Francisco 49ers’ RB Christian McCaffrey. Former NFL QB Tom Brady believes that McCaffrey should win the MVP this season.

Brady then said on the Let’s Go! podcast:

So he is definitely in my mind the MVP favorite and according to his quarterback too, Brock Purdy, who says some amazing things about him,"And I know you'll say, because you're a great team player, the Super Bowl is the only thing that really matters. With the offseason that the running backs have, do you kind of feel like an award like that would be pretty nice?

McCaffrey so far this season has rushed for 1,292 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. In the Niners’ latest game against the Arizona Cardinals, McCaffrey rushed for 115 yards and also caught 5 passes for 72 yards. He scored three total touchdowns in the game.
