Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever throw a spiral. The New England Patriots legend is known for his on-field achievements. But Brady is pretty talented off-the-football field too. He has appeared in cameo roles in multiple Hollywood movies. During one of his cameo roles, Brady got into trouble after he made a massage parlor joke seemingly aimed at Robert Kraft.

In 2019, Tom Brady made an appearance in Paul Rudd’s Netflix series Living With Yourself. In that episode, Rudd’s character is sitting outside in the parking lot f a massage parlor. Brady who gets out of the parlor asks Rudd “First time?” To which Rudd replies “Uh-huh. You?”

“Sixth,” a smirking Brady replies possibly referencing his Super Bowl ring count at that time. The cameo looked eerily similar to the Patriots owner Robert Kraft‘s legal troubles at the time.

The then-78-year-old was accused of paying for sex at a Florida massage parlor according to reports. He however pleaded not guilty and the case against him fell out after a Florida court ruled CCTV footage of him was obtained illegally thus making it non-admissible.

Nevertheless, the show creator David Greenberg rejected the claim that the joke was aimed at Robert Kraft. He claimed that it was in the works before Kraft was accused of paying for sex in a massage parlor.

Despite the similarities and the timing, the New England Patriots legend Tom Brady said that the joke was not aimed at the Pats owner Robert Kraft. Brady told ESPN reported Mike Reiss that the clip was taken out of context and it meant something different.

“I think that [it] was taken out of context, just like you’re taking it out of context and trying to make it a story for yourself, which has a negative connotation to it,” the quarterback said in a video posted by ESPN reporter Mike Reiss. “It was meant to be something different than that.”

“It was shot on a green screen, it was agreed to a year ago, it was written four years ago. It’s unfortunate that people would choose to think that I would ever do something like that to Mr. Kraft, I think that’s a very bad assessment of my relationship with him,” Brady said.

Nevertheless, Brady and Kraft’s relationship didn’t seem to take a hit due to this issue as they stayed close to each other even after Brady left the Patriots to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020.
