Tom Brady‘s still got it. The GOAT can still sling it. Although he retired almost a year ago, Brady’s arm still seems to have the same strength. The former New England Patriots‘ QB won seven Super Bowls during his illustrious 23-year NFL career and retired as the winningest QB in the league history.

Brady still had a lot of interest heading into the 2023 season, despite retiring from the sport in January last year. The San Francisco 49ers were reportedly interested in bringing the three-time MVP out of retirement to play for them this season.

According to ESPN, Kyle Shanahan informed Brock Purdy prior to the season that he would start at quarterback for the team unless he could convince Brady to play his final NFL season in San Francisco. If recent evidence is anything to go by, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ QB can still throw darts.

On Monday, a video of Tom Brady at a dinner gala showing him a complete dime pass to Australian rugby star Reece Walsh went viral. Brady waits for a quick cue to strike the rugby player directly over the heads of a ton of onlookers while standing on a stage in a packed room. Brady’s arm looked pretty good there. Almost like he could come back and play again.

But Brady seems to have moved past his playing days. According to the Daily Mail, he inked a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox to serve as their primary color commentator starting in 2024.

Tom Brady criticizes Dan Campbell’s ‘aggressiveness’ during the NFC Championship game

The NFC Championship game on Sunday was won by the San Francisco 49ers, but it was the Detroit Lions‘ game in the first half. The Lions came out firing and established a 17-point lead in the first half. However, Dan Campbell‘s aggressive, “go-for-it” approach cost them crucial points in the second half and that ended up being the difference in the championship game.

Seven-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady was baffled by the head coach’s decision to stay aggressive despite having the lead in a big game. Brady said to himself at one point during the conference title game:

I don't know what they're doing. The handoff there late in the game, that was the one I didn't understand. So that was the one I just said, 'I don't know what they're doing.' I thought it was just a flat-out error.

Speaking on his Let’s Go! podcast, Brady concluded:

They've been aggressive all year. Obviously, when you're aggressive and it doesn't work, it comes back to bite you. It came back to bite them.

Brady is aware that there are no hard-and-fast rules in this situation. A coach may also need to make snap judgements at times.
