“Old man SLIPPED”: Watch Tom Brady HILARIOUSLY fail in an attempt to play wide-receiver
Tom Brady and Leonard Fournette switched roles in this play.
Tom Brady chose the right position as a football player in the NFL. He might be the greatest player of all time, but his athleticism is nowhere as great. We remember the infamous combine photo where Tom looked like he had barely played any sport in his lifetime. Today, Brady showed us again why we can never mention his name and athleticism in the same sentence.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced off against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL’s first game at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. The matchup was an anticipated one, with Tom Brady facing off against Geno Smith and his squad, who have been on quite the tear recently.
The Bucs have been struggling for the past few weeks, however last week, the team barely managed to scrape past the Los Angeles Rams because of Tom Brady doing GOAT things. This week, the Bucs came into the game all guns blazing as they beat the Seattle Seahawks 21-16.
The highlight of the game was Leonard Fournette’s botched pass to Tom Brady:
Tampa Bay’s offense got off to a great start with Julio Jones getting a touchdown pass and Leonard Fournette rushing into the endzone. Tampa got off to a comfortable 14-0 start over their competitors and Offensive Coordinator Byron Leftwich decided to throw all of us off-guard by calling a rather unusual play.
In this particular play, Leonard Fournette took the snap rather than Tom Brady. The first instinct of the defense, as well as fans, was that Lenny would be running the ball and attempting to get a first down. But here is where things get twisted. The play has Tom Brady lined up near Tampa Bay’s sideline and Brady takes off as soon as the ball is snapped.
Watching Tom Brady attempt to run as fast as possible is hilarious all by itself, but Leonard Fournette attempts to throw the ball to Tom, who is past the first down demarcation by this point. Tom Brady slips and ends up sliding under Tariq Woolen, who jumps over the QB and intercepts the pass.
We can’t say we did not see this one coming. Is Tom Brady running a wideout route at the age of 45? Byron Leftwich had to be trolling us with this play call. Fans on Twitter had hilarious takes on this play call by the Tampa Bay Bucs:
Fields is 20-something, and Brady’s old enough to be Fields’ dad.
Imagine having Tom Brady catch a pass on you. That has got to be the worst feeling ever for any cornerback.
With the number of drops by Tampa Bay’s wideouts, Brady felt the need to take things into his own hands.
What could possibly go wrong?
Brady’s slip was hilarious.
That’s gotta go, man, that play can never be called again as long as TB12 is the quarterback.
Byron Leftwich out here attempting to do sidequests while attempting to win the game.
Leonard Fournette thought he was Pat Mahomes.
Really? Of all the wideouts in the NFL, you think of CeeDee Lamb?
Tom Brady gets points for trying, but running a wideout’s route and attempting to catch the ball over a defensive back may not be the best thing for him. Nevertheless, Tampa got the win, and that is all that matters.
