There have been many horrifying stories from the Kansas City shooting incident during the end of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday. But the most tragic one is of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the radio DJ who lost her life in that tragedy. 

In the aftermath of the tragic mass shooting, the pop superstar Taylor Swift made a generous size of donation to the family of Lopez-Galvan, for the torment they faced when she was shot and killed on Wednesday by an unidentified shooter. Swift, who is currently in Australia for her record-breaking Eras Tour, made two major donations sized $100,000 by reaching out to the GoFundMe page, set up to help Lopez-Galvan’s family.

The Grammy-winner also added a note along with her donation, writing:

Variety Magazine confirmed that the amount was legitimate and made by the prominent singer herself. The GoFundMe page was established with an initial goal of collecting up to $75,000 to provide vital financial support to the victim’s family. Apart from the “Love Story” singer, more than 3,000 people have donated to the “Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan Memorial.” With Swift’s contribution, the total amount has reached up to $304,919. 

Kansas City Police rule out terrorism in Super Bowl parade shooting

Amidst the ongoing police investigation, Kansas City police chief Stacey Graves shared with The Guardian that there was “no nexus to terrorism or homegrown violent extremism” behind the mass shooting. Police have found that the parade was not targeted and it was nothing other than an argument that turned violent. 

For further investigation, the Kansas City police have arrested three people and two teenagers. The tragic incident has shaken a lot of people, the Chiefs released an official statement saying they are “truly saddened by the senseless act of violence.”

Swift’s boyfriend and Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce also talked about the tragedy and shared he was “heartbroken” by how things panned out and caused such distress and loss.
