The AFC West division title winners, Kansas City Chiefs, are currently preparing for their playoff game against the Miami Dolphins in the wildcard game. Ahead of the game, the Chiefs’ All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce — who is currently dating the global music star Taylor Swift — and head coach Andy Reid both opened up about their retirement rumors.

During the Chiefs’ pre-game press conference on Friday, the All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce addressed the retirement rumors and said there’s no reason for him to retire from the sport.

I have no reason to stop playing football, man. I love it. We still have success. Come in with the right mindset, and I just love the challenge that it gives me every single day to try and be at my best. And, like I said, I have no desire to stop anytime soon.

Kelce had a good 2023 NFL campaign, where he finished just 16 yards shy of registering his eighth consecutive 1000-yard season. He recently revealed that he once contemplated retiring from the sport, but those thoughts never progressed far enough to seriously think about his life after football.

Furthermore, the All-Pro tight end also revealed he is now solely focused on helping the Kansas City-based football team win the 4th championship ring in the franchise’s history. In their Super Bowl hunt, Kelce and the Chiefs will take on the Dolphins this weekend in what is predicted to be one of the coldest games in the league’s history.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid also opened up about retirement rumors

Along with the Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the veteran head coach Andy Reid was also asked about his future plans during the pre-game press conference on Friday.

I haven’t even thought about that. I’m thinking about one thing. I figured that would come up when you guys were asking these questions because I’m old — but, not that old.
Andy Reid told reporters

Reid is currently 65 years old and will turn 66 in March. He has been one of the main reasons behind the Chiefs’ successful run in recent years. Under the combination of his leadership and QB Patrick Mahomes‘ talent, the Chiefs have won 2 titles in the last 4 years.

Now, he would be focused on bringing the Chiefs their 4th ring. The Chiefs are looking to become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowl rings in nearly 2 decades. Nonetheless, no matter the outcome on Saturday, it seems like Reid is not thinking about retiring from the sport anytime soon.
