Monday night’s Manning cast has slowly become synonymous with football itself. Brothers Peyton Manning and Eli Manning always invite some interesting guests, and this time they went out and got Tua Tagovailoa.

The Miami Dolphins quarterback, fresh off the win over the Washington Commanders, appeared on the show with a few surprises. By now, everyone knows he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but what most aren’t aware of is his musical skills.

When Tagovailoa appeared on the screen, two guitar heads were visible behind him. Then he picks up one, asking for song requests from the Manning brothers. As they were busy choosing, the 25-year-old said he was going to play ‘Tears in Heaven’ by Eric Clapton.

Quite the choice right there. Clapton won a Grammy for the song back in 1992. Not only that, it was one of the most listened-to compositions of the decade.

Tua Tagovailoa had a hilarious reaction to Peyton Manning’s subtle Ohio State jibe

While Peyton and Eli Manning were brainstorming what song Tua should play, the retired Super Bowl winner took a not-so-subtle jab at the Flordia State Seminoles. Eli said his older brother loves ‘Rocky Top.’ Obviously, Tagovailoa would have a little fun, and he responded with a few chords of ‘Sweet Home Alabama.’

Ok, I know that one. I like that. I like that. I can respect that. Florida State doesn’t like that.

After realizing what the Hall of Famer was trying to imply, Tagovailoa replied with a big smile on his face,

Florida State does not like that.

To put everything into context, FSU finished the 2023 football season unbeaten. Despite their spotless record, the college football committee chose not to include them in the playoffs. Instead, they went with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

This has created a lot of controversy, with many analysts and fans criticizing the four-team play system. But where does Tua Tagovailoa fit into all of this? That’s a simple answer. He was part of the Alabama Crimson Tide squad for three years, starting 24 games and losing only twice. At the end of his tenure, he had 7,442 yards, 87 touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions.

Tagovailoa played with the current Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. They were teammates for two seasons before Hurts transferred to the Oklahoma Sooners in his senior year.
