“He’s THAT dude”: Tyreek Hill makes a shocking comment claiming Tua Tagovailoa’s throws are more accurate in comparison to Patrick Mahomes

Tyreek Hill is in a new environment, a much different one than what he is accustomed to being in. In Kansas City, the WR was accustomed to being around generational talents like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. The culture was a winning one, now he is in a completely opposite situation. The Dolphins have not played well for years now, they have a new quarterback in Tua but he has been mediocre at best so far and his health has been a major cause for concern to the team.

Hill feels that Tua Tagovailoa is undervalued and underrated. The wideout appeared on the It Needed To Be Said podcast with agent Drew Rosenhaus where the two spoke on a plethora of topics ranging from his departure from Kansas City to commenting on his newest quarterback and his capabilities. Tyreek had some high praise for Tua.

“He has a heck of an arm”: Tyreek Hill believes Tua’s arm strength is overlooked

Tyreek Hill believes Tua is an underrated passer

Tyreek had this to say on Tua’s throwing capabilities, “I’ve had a chance to see Tua (Tagovailoa) throw the ball, to myself, but… he’s that dude bro, Like, what a lot of people don’t know, like, I’m not just sitting just saying this because he’s my quarterback now…like, I’m not trying to get more targets right now,” Tyreek stated praising Tua and claiming that he genuinely feels that his QB is one of the top guys across the entire NFL.

“What I’m trying to say is Tua is that deal, bro, he has a heck of an arm, he’s accurate, he can throw the deep ball, and he actually goes through his reads, where people are like on Twitter like saying, ‘Oh, he doesn’t go through his reads.’ Man, this dude is that dude.” Hill said.

Tua’s biggest criticisms have been that he cannot throw the deep ball and that he cannot throw the ball accurately, however, Hill claims that all of these are not true. When asked about who has a stronger arm, Tua or Patrick Mahomes? Tyreek gave a rather surprising answer.

“I’m gonna go with 15 as the strongest arm but as far as accuracy-wise, I’m going with Tua all day, I want (the pass) to hit me right in the breadbasket, just like I did in the Buffalo Bills game and take it 70, and the rest is history,” Tyreek said. This is surprising considering Mahomes has had the better pass completion percentage and he has proven time and again that he can accurately throw the ball.

Tua has not shown us that he can do so consistently. Speaking on how his game will be as a Dolphin, he believes that he is done limiting himself to catching only deep balls. “I love the deep ball, but I done expanded my game I’m doing a lot more than just the deep ball now. I’m doing intermediate routes, I’m doing short routes. Now I actually need a guy who can just get me the ball now, on a dagger route, on a corner route, on a shallow cross route. You know, right now, right in my chest. So I can do the rest. I make you look good now.”

That is good to know considering that Hill has earned a name for being the fastest WR in the league and due to this talent of his, his offensive coaches prefer he run only long-distance and deep routes. Tyreek also gave examples of instances where he has made average quarterbacks look like above-average players with his performance.

He is referring to the time when Patrick Mahomes was injured in 2019 and Matt Moore was his quarterback, he recorded 150 yards for a touchdown with Moore as his QB, he believes that Tua is equivalent to 10 Matt Moores.

Only time will tell if the Miami Dolphins will have a better season this year than last season and if Tua Tagovailoa will live up to all the hype.
