The Los Angeles Chargers‘ head coach, Brandon Staley, is a very controversial figure in the NFL as he has made some questionable decisions over the years. In that trend, the second-year HC has come under scrutiny for his decision to start the Chargers’ star player in a meaningless game against the Broncos in week 18 of the NFL regular season, which eventually led to the injury of their star wideout Mike Williams.

Staley said that it wasn’t an easy decision but there were only so many players that he choose from. “There’s only 48 guys that you can choose from and these aren’t easy decisions,” said the Chargers HC Brandon Staley in a recent presser. “Hindsight is perfect for everybody on the outside, but these games are not easy to manage. They’re not, because you don’t have that many players. We did it to the best of our ability.”

This decision massively backfired since the star receiver Mike Williams, who has been dealing with several injuries throughout the season, ended up injuring his back during the second quarter of the game. Furthermore, the 28-year-old receiver had to be carted off the field due to the severity of his injury. He is now listed as questionable for their all-important playoff game against the Jaguars in the wildcard week.

The Chargers fans on social media went berserk after they saw that Mike Williams was listed as questionable for their all-important playoff against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday.

Chargers fans blamed and criticized their HC Brandon Staley for his decision to keep the starters till the second quarter in a ‘meaningless’ game against a dismantled Denver Broncos team. They believe Staley should’ve pulled out the star players within the first quarter of the game.

Many people pointed out how stupid it was to keep the starters in the game, especially a player like Mike Williams, who has a long history of dealing with injuries throughout his career. Even after an injury to his star player, Staley didn’t back out of his decision to keep the starters in the game as he kept their franchise QB Justin Herbert until the fourth quarter.

The LA Chargers lost against the Broncos 31-28 in a game that didn’t matter. In addition, they are in big danger of losing their No.1 receiver in what is going to be a tough and gritty game against the AFC South Champions led by the wonderboy Trevor Lawrence.
