WATCH: “What the f**k was that???” – NFL Twitter BLASTS the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott for idiotically showing white flags on the ‘must-score’ final drive

Dallas Cowboys‘ Super Bowl run came to an end (again) after the San Francisco 49ers won the game 19-12. With this loss, the Cowboys have now gone 28 years without playing in the NFC Championship game. The last time they did was in 1995 when they went on to win their fifth Super Bowl.
It wasn’t that the Cowboys played any more horrible than the 49ers did, they just missed out on very important plays that could’ve given them the lead. Looking back, Brett Maher‘s missed kick did cost the Cowboys one point which could’ve made all the difference in the world.
Veteran quarterback Dak Prescott, who had a perfect outing last week, threw two picks against the 49ers. His first interception game was on the second drive of the game when he threw to Michael Gallup, who wasn’t wide open. His second pick happened in the same way as he forced a ball to CeeDee Lamb on second down and 2 who wasn’t open.

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys repeat history
The game was tied 9-9 as both teams headed into the final 15 minutes of the game. The 49ers took the lead back after tight end George Kittle‘s circus grab that was converted into a touchdown in the following drives. Still, the Cowboys had the golden opportunity to tie the game during the final few minutes after a successful field goal from Maher that made it a 7-point game.
Dalton Schultz had two bad receptions during the last 2 minutes of the game. On the first catch, he failed to go out of bounds properly, which kept the clock running, and the Cowboys lost 15 very crucial seconds. On his second catch, he couldn’t get both his feet in bounds, which cost the team 15 yards. The real head-scratcher for analysts and fans was the final drive of the game on third-and-10 at the 24-yard line, with six seconds remaining.
Running back, Ezekiel Elliott lined up as center with Prescott riding shotgun and all the offensive linemen spread out with the receivers. As expected, Elliott was immediately pancaked by 49ers defenders and without a safe pocket, Prescott had no choice but to get rid of the ball quickly. He threw it to wideout KaVontae Turpin who was brought down short of the first down, and the play clock ran out sending the 49ers into the NFC Championship.
And right on the cue, NFL Twitter was ready with their ‘kind’ commentary on this play. Check some of those hilarious reactions.
The Dallas Cowboys really outdid themselves this year. Last season, they had a chance of winning the wild card game against the 49ers on the final drive of the game, but they missed that and history did repeat itself this year. They messed up on the final drive of the game with their trick play, which had no trick to it and should rather have thrown a Hail Mary pass. Jerry Jones was visibly angry at Dak Prescott, Mike McCarthy, and the entire team, and it is going to be a rough few weeks in Dallas.
