College Football Rose Bowl
College Football has an extensive cultural identity in the United States of America, as that’s where people find future stars that go on to dominate the NFL.
With regard to this setup, which has produced countless football superstars, a massive change is incoming. The Rose Bowl has agreed to increase the number of teams competing in the College football playoffs. Earlier four teams used to compete, but now it has been increased to a massive number of 12 teams that will take part in the playoffs in the years 2024 and 2025.
The voting regarding the same was done in September when the College Football playoff board of managers sat down to discuss the possibility of increasing teams for playoffs.
However, the Rose Bowl authority was the final obstacle, as they didn’t agree with the change at first. Though, later they decided to cooperate and go ahead with the decision.
Also, there have been reports of the Rose Bowl being threatened for the above-mentioned decision. Sources told ESPN’s Heather Dinich that if they fail to agree, then they risk being shut down and stripped away from television rights.
College Football is getting bigger and broader each year, with millions of dollars getting funneled in to make it more interesting and increase its reach.
This has major disadvantages as it hinders the authenticity of College Football and that’s the main reason that people watch it over the NFL.
