Patrick Mahomes is currently the best player in the league by a mile. The 27-year-old QB has been improving every single season and now it looks like he has reached his prime. Mahomes is looking like a perfect QB that can do anything just to score points for the team.
The Chiefs QB has led his team to a formidable 9-2 record and has made them strong contenders for this year’s Super Bowl. However, Patrick Mahomes was met with humiliation recently when the NFL decided to flex their week 14 fixture against the Broncos that was to take place on SNF.
The Chiefs-Broncos fixture was replaced with Chargers-Dolphins due to the system by the league where they have decided to adopt flexible scheduling during weeks 5-10 and weeks 11-17. This is also the second time that the Chargers have been pushed into SNF. The first time was during week 11 when they faced off against the Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes is currently on a roll and people love to watch the QB on SNF as it’s the only time of the week when there is maximum engagement from the people.
The NFL has decided to use that opportunity to push the games that people won’t watch that much like the Chargers-Dolphins matchup.
Patrick Mahomes snub was not taken well by NFL Twitter
Patrick Mahomes has multitudes of fans around the country and people weren’t happy when the NFL decided to remove the fixture from prime-time SNF.
People on social media called out the league’s agenda to push the Chargers game on prime-time to get maximum views for the team. Although they didn’t have a good reason to argue as the Chiefs were facing the terrible Broncos.
The Broncos have struggled throughout the season and are currently one of the worst teams in the NFL. Their QB Russell Wilson has been an abomination as the team struggles to score any points.
Maybe the league decided to remove the fixture from SNF as it was a one-sided game on paper where Mahomes would have completely decimated the Broncos. By including the Chargers-Dolphins fixture, the league wants people to enjoy a tight and interesting game.
