The Minnesota Vikings were indeed a fraudulent football team like everyone guessed.

The Minnesota Vikings have been eliminated from the NFL postseason by the New York Giants. Their franchise QB Kirk Cousins, once again proved to be a liability in clutch situations as he made a brainless decision in the final minutes after playing decently throughout the game. The Giants QB Daniel Jones, on the other hand, has made a statement and possibly earned a second contract with the team that drafted him.

The Vikings entered the game as the home favorites, but they never took a lead against the road underdogs. In the loss, the Vikings QB threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns while completing 79.5% of his passes, and also he finished the game with an impressive 112.9 passer rating. The stats show he played well, but when it mattered the most, he let down his team.

During the final minutes of the game, when the Vikings were trailing by seven points, they found themselves facing 4th and 8 around the midfield with no timeouts. And Cousins decided to checkdown the ball to his tight end TJ Hockenson for a 3-yard gain. The Minnesota-based franchise lost the game in the most disappointing way possible.

There were questionable decisions made by the Minnesota coaching staff throughout the game as even earlier in the game they tried a throwback pass to their 34-year-old QB when they faced a 3 and 2. They obviously failed in that attempt and as it turned, that wasn’t even the worst decision by a Viking in this game.

The Minnesota Vikings were 13-4 in the regular season and won the NFC North division. Furthermore, they had a player who is leading the league in receiving yards and a front-runner for the Offensive Player of the Year honor. They had a record of 11-0 in the games that were decided by one touchdown or less.

On the flip side, the Giants were the Giants, they are a rebuilding team with a rookie head coach and a mediocre QB who is fighting for a second contract. They were a mere 4-13 team just last season and somehow managed to clinch a wildcard spot this season.

And against all the odds, the G-Men went into the home of the Vikings and ripped out the hearts of thousands of fans who showed up to support their team in the wildcard game. The Giants fans will cherish this victory forever and for the Vikings fans, it’s just another playoff choke job.

The Minnesota Vikings will need some time to forget this ugly loss before they regroup and try to fix their flaws and put more pieces around their franchise QB in hopes of reaching the Super Bowl next season.
