Miami Dolphins‘ wide receiver Tyreek Hill is probably the fastest player in the league. One of the best wideouts in the NFL, he is aptly nicknamed ‘Cheetah’ because of his speed. He consistently beats his opponents with his legs.
One might think Hill prepares a lot by watching films before every game to gauge the weakness of the DB he will be facing, but in a recent press conference, Hill shockingly admitted to not watching game film at all and instead playing Madden to understand the defenders he will be going up against. “I feel like Madden has a good tell of how good players are” Hill said, “So I just play Madden the night before and I go look at all their ratings. I see their awareness, speed and strength and that’s how I get a good tell on them.”
The Dolphins acquired Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs at the start of last season. He is part of one of the best wide receiver duos in the league with Jaylen Waddle. Hill had a great first season in Miami accumulating 1,710 receiving yards (career best) and scoring 7 touchdowns, all of this while not watching any game film! The Dolphins will hope that Hill continues his stellar play this season as they open their campaign against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 10.
Can Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle become the best receiving duo in the NFL?
The Miami Dolphins signed Tyreek Hill last season from the Kansas City Chiefs. He joined Jaylen Waddle who was drafted sixth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. They instantly formed a deadly receiving duo and, with a healthy Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback, balled out last season.
In a league where there are so many talented wide receiver duos, Hill and Waddle will hope to take the next step and become the best in the league this season. They had a phenomenal 2022 season en route to a wild-card spot and will hope to carry that form into this year.
Both Hill and Waddle were named in the NFL Top 100 Players for 2023 list. Waddle was ranked 44th whereas Hill cracked the top 10 and was ranked 7th. This was Waddle’s first time making the list, whereas Hill has been a constant feature in it since his Kansas City days. The Dolphins will play their remaining preseason games against the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
