Looks like Tyreek Hill has taken Sunday Night Football loss against the Baltimore Ravens to the heart. With grave disappointment in his voice, the Miami Dolphins star receiver claimed it was one of the worst games of his four years in the NFL.
Straight from the first quarter, Hill did not play at his best as he dropped a crucial wide-open touchdown pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The crucial pass could have given the team a 13-7 lead in the game. But they had to settle for a 27-yard field goal scored by kicker Jason Sanders.
The star receiver considers himself the team’s engine. He logged six catches for 76 yards. He wasn’t in any of the highlights from the game. In the post-game press conference, Hill said:
It sucks man but we have to move past it. I played one of the worst games of my career. I can't put that on tape.Tyreek Hill after losing to the Ravens
Last night, the Dolphins could only score on two of their ten final drives, two ending up in the quarterback’s interceptions. The other two resulted in a fumble and a turnover on the downs.
Meanwhile, from that point, the Ravens outperformed them with a 49-9, while the MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson gave a stellar performance of 321 yards and five touchdowns, leading the team up to 491 yards.
Tyreek Hill’s rare blunder overshadows his stellar season
Learning from his mistakes, the Dolphins receiver asserted that he wouldn’t make the wide-open mistake ever again. Hill had the unfortunate fate of making crucial mistakes that changed the game’s momentum. This is what Hill said:
I never get that wide open. I have to make that play.Tyreek Hill via Joe Schad
Despite the poor loss of 56-19, the Dolphins’ position for the postseason remains the same. The team has already secured a playoff spot with an 11-5 season record. And though Hill was not happy about last night, the major credit for bringing the Dolphins to this level goes to him. He has caught 112 passes for 1,717 yards, along with 12 touchdowns. Not just that, Hill also leads the NFL in receiving yards and ranked second in touchdown passes.
The receiver knows where he and the rest of the team went wrong in the game against the Ravens and also knows that Miami cannot afford to make such a mistake like week 17 again if they aspire to reach the Super Bowl.
