Tyreek Hill has a whole host of extracurricular activities he likes to keep himself engaged in. From finding treasure boxes in Fortnite to dreaming of becoming an adult film star, Hill’s interests are varied. He recently added another item to his bucket list, which is to take up boxing and fight Jake Paul.
While appearing on the Fully Tilted Podcast, the Miami Dolphins star wide receiver expressed his desire to dual inside the boxing ring. Hill claimed that it’s in his DNA because he grew up boxing.
Just take it to the cage, bro. That’s why I want to meet [Dana White]; I want to get in the cage. I want to get in the cage, or I want to box.Hill said
The first opponent he wants to face is Jake Paul. It’s because he believes that the YouTube sensation turned MMA fighter is a soft target.
My first fight needs to be like Jake Paul. I [Tyreel Hill] don’t think he’s tough. I grew up boxing.
Beating Jake Paul won’t be easy for Tyreek Hill
No matter how confident Tyreek Hill may sound, he will have a hard time going up against Paul. Unlike the Super Bowl winner, who has never been part of an official boxing match, Paul has been fighting since 2020. The 27-year-old regularly hits the gym and gains decent lean muscle to qualify as a boxer.
Hill still has the physique of an NFL wide receiver with massive bulk. On top of that, Paul has admirers. Even his biggest critics agreed that there are some innate qualities in how he fights. Especially the punching prowess, going toe to toe with the likes of André August in the first round in December.
Not to mention, he has a good track record. Since his debut, Jake Paul has fought in 9 matches, winning 8 (5 knockouts). The only defeat came at the hands of Tommy Fury in February last year via a split decision.
Tyreek Hill, on the other hand, should focus more on helping the Dolphins get further than the wild card. After a blistering start to the 2023 campaign, they fell at the first hurdle in the postseason, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs. He came close to reaching his goal of 2000 receiving yards, registering 1799 yards from 119 catches and 19 touchdowns.
As for Paul, he is scheduled to fight boxer Ryan Bourland (17-2, 5 KOs) on Saturday in San Juan, Puerto Rico. All eyes will be on the fight.
