On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by Baker Mayfield managed to secure a victory against their NFC South division rivals Carolina Panthers in their week 13 matchup. The Buccaneers’ wide receiver Mike Evans had a historic night as he became the first player in NFL history to start his career with 10 straight seasons with 1000-plus receiving yards.
And now, the Miami Dolphins star wideout Tyreek Hill has two words to praise Evans.
Generational TalentHill wrote about Evans on X.
Hill shared a post about Mike Evans’ historic night and praised the future potential Hall of Fame receiver. The Dolphins wide receiver has always shown huge respect to the Bucs’ veteran pass catcher.
Recently, during an episode of former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III’s podcast “RG3 and the Ones,” Hill was asked to name his top 5 best wide receivers in the league. The first name Hill said was Mike Evans. That shows the respect Hill has towards the Buccaneers receiver.
Nonetheless, Evans had a great outing on Sunday as he caught 7 passes for 162 receiving yards and 1 touchdown while helping the Buccaneers secure a much-needed victory against the Panthers in their week 13 game. During the game, Evans crossed the 1000-plus receiving yards mark in the ongoing season. This is the 10th consecutive year Evans has achieved the feat in the NFL.
Furthermore, it should be noted that Evans has made this incredible achievement without a lot of stability in the quarterback position. He has done this with Tom Brady, Jameis Winston, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh McCown, and now with Baker Mayfield. Truly, a generational talent!
Tyreek Hill himself is chasing a historical record
Just like Mike Evans, the Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is also looking to be a part of history. Hill is trying to become the first player in the league’s history to register 2000-plus receiving yards in a single season.

Hill declared that he was going for that specific record even before the start of the season. While everyone thought Hill was just joking around, the All-Pro pass catcher is now verging toward the record mark.
So far, through 13 weeks, Hill has caught 93 passes for 1,481 yards and 12 touchdowns. He still has 5 games left to register 519 yards. So, if he can stay healthy for the next 5 weeks, Hill certainly has a shot at breaking the single-season receiving yards record.
