Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns managed to secure a crucial victory against their AFC North division rivals Baltimore Ravens in their week 10 matchup. Watson did not have a great outing on Sunday but he did manage to outplay the Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and led his team to a much-needed victory. Following the victory, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill called out Watson’s critics, who have been bashing the Browns’ signal-caller for his poor campaign.
All this Deshaun Watson slander quiet today.Hill wrote on social media.
In the game, Watson only completed 58.8 percent of his pass attempts for 213 yards and 1 touchdown while throwing 1 interception. His performance wasn’t that good, but his defense managed to pick off Lamar Jackson 2 times, which led to them winning the game.
As previously mentioned, Watson’s performance wasn’t that great. Yet, he still received the support of the Dolphins’ All-Pro pass catcher Tyreek Hill. However, Hill supporting Watson did not sit well with some fans on social media.
Fans criticized Miami’s wide receiver for supporting Watson, who has been accused of sexual assault by more than two dozen women. Besides, some people even brought up Hill’s old domestic violence case to bash the Dolphins wideout.
Anyhow, the Browns managed to secure a much-needed victory against the Ravens on the weekend. With that victory, the Cleveland-based football team improved to a solid 6-3 record. They are now only 1 game behind the AFC North division leaders, the Ravens.
Deshaun Watson isn’t having a great campaign for the Browns
Back in the 2022 offseason, the Browns signed Deshaun Watson to a massive 5-year deal despite his off-season issues. Watson got a $230 million fully guaranteed contract to serve as Cleveland’s QB.
But so far, it seems like the former Pro Bowl QB isn’t worth that kind of money. All the off-field issues aside, Watson has been really struggling to execute on the field for his team.
In the ongoing NFL season so far, Watson has thrown only 7 touchdowns in 7 games while throwing 4 interceptions. To be fair, Watson hasn’t been fully healthy as he missed some time with a shoulder injury.
The Browns are hoping to get the best out of their quarterback before the postseason. Currently, the Browns have a solid 6-3 record and have a big chance to make it to the playoffs. If Watson got back to his old form, then the Cleveland-based franchise could hope for a deep postseason run.
