“Got to get out of here,” Tyreek Hill reveals what instigated his move to the Dolphins and how he didn’t feel valued at the Chiefs

Tyreek Hill has revealed the main reason behind his ‘tough’ move from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins. Hill, who was drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 draft, made his name with the team as one of the best wide receivers in the league. Suddenly midway through the 2021 season, Hill decided it was time for him to make a move away from the Chiefs as he didn’t feel ‘valued’ with them.

Speaking with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, Hill answered when he thought he may not finish his career with the Chiefs. He said that midway through the 2021 season; he thought about it and revealed the locker room discussions he had with his teammates and the things he discussed with the coach in meetings. He then said that everything led him to call his agent, and that led to his wanting to get out of the team.

“[There’d] be some games where I’d get two targets, I’d get three targets. We’d go into meetings and my coach would be like, ‘We’ve got to get you involved, we’ve got to get you involved,'” Hill said. “So I’m calling my agent, every week after they say some crazy stuff like that like, ‘Bro, I’ve got to get out of here.'”

Tyreek Hill started exploring options, and that’s when the Dolphins approached him with an offer that he couldn’t turn down. They offered him $72 million guaranteed and a four-year contract. Hill even offered the Chiefs to match the same, but the team had moved on with him. He saw that the Chiefs didn’t value him whereas the Dolphins did and that is how he decided to join the latter.

“With no state income tax, I’m basically living in my house for free right now,” he said. “That really goes to show how valuable I am to them as opposed to how valuable I could be to Miami. So here I am today.”

Hill currently leads the NFL with 100 receptions and has helped the Dolphins perform well this season with an 8-5 record. They are very well in contention for the playoffs and will face the in-form Bills this week in a very important matchup. They will then face the Packers, the Patriots, and the Jets in the remaining matches.
