Before the start of the season, Tyreek Hill vowed to break the 2000 receiving yard barrier. He is well on his way after beating the Los Angeles Chargers 36-34 on Sunday.

The game was sluggish in the first quarter, with several incomplete passes and fumbles. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa looked for Hill from the first pass, on which the receiver gained 16 yards. He finished the first half with 104 receiving yards. However, everything changed in the second as the Fins put pressure on their opponents.

They came out of the block sharper and put together a few quick passes. At the end of the third, Tagovailoa found Hill, who brushed aside Chargers cornerback J. C. Jackson to score a 35-yard touchdown. It was clear that the onus was on the Miami Dolphins.

Not long after, on Miami’s go-ahead drive, Tagovailoa once again found Tyereek Hill, who completed a 47-yard TD on third-and-10. With back-to-back red zone runs in his pocket, the Cheetah celebrated by smacking his helmet on the side of the field and running around, establishing his dominance.

Tyreek Hill breaks the NFL record for most games with 200-plus yards and multiple touchdowns

Tua Tagovailoa gave one of his best performances in a Miami Dolphins shirt, throwing for 466 yards and three touchdowns. But Tyreek Hill was the star of the day. He registered 11 receptions for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

This was the 29-year-old’s third game in which he gained 200 or more yards and multiple touchdowns. Hill went past the great Jerry Rice and several others in that process.

Moreover, his 215 receiving yards against the Chargers are the second-most in a Week 1 game in the Super Bowl era. Anquan Boldin’s 217 yards against the Detroit Lions in 2003 remain untouched.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel praised both of his top players. He claimed that the outcome was the result of the hard work both of them put in during the offseason.

Those two guys are a great example of not focusing [only on] their craft,” he said. “They were on the same page.”

Hill, too, was pumped after the narrow victory. The Pro Bowler, who is in his second season in Miami, claimed he feels at home.

“Everything was more fluid this year,” he said, as per ESPN.com. “Last year, I was just banking on my speed and just outrunning guys. This time I was in my bag a little bit more on release moves.”

The Dolphins are projected to do better than 2022 and to achieve that objective; they need both Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill to fit through the season. They may even win the AFC East, which they last managed back in 2008.
