The Los Angeles Rams are dropping players like flies this offseason. After mortgaging their future and money trying to build a roster to win the Super Bowl, things have come full circle for the Rams.

With the Rams being $14.1 million over the salary cap, they have no choice but to release the elite players they acquired, starting with veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner. The Super Bowl LVI winning team also released pass rusher Leonard Floyd and the latest defensive player to join this list is Jalen Ramsey.

The Rams traded Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the 2023 third-round pick (77th overall) and tight end Hunter Long. The deal has been finalized but the actual trade will take place when the new league year begins as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Dolphins’ GM Chris Grier has now made two blockbuster trades in the past 365 days. The first one was acquiring star wideout Tyreek Hill and the second getting Jalen Ramsey for a steal. Miami was in need of a cornerback after the extended recovery period of Byron Jones. The 6x Pro Bowl cornerback was elated about his move to Miami and tweeted, “I prayed for this specifically for about a month & now it’s happening! @MiamiDolphins LETSGO!”

Tyreek Hill was also hyped up to have his former nemesis join him as a teammate and have practice sessions with him to learn a few trade secrets. Hill tweeted, “if you hit me like you did in that flag game we fighting.” During the Pro Bowl flag football game between the AFC and the NFC, Jalen Ramsey mistakenly leveled Hill. The 28-year-old cornerback was reaching for Davante Adams‘ flag who threw a lateral pass to Hill.

While Adams moved out of the way and saved himself from being tackled, Hill had to bare the brunt of Ramsey’s force. The former Rams is known to be one of the hardest-hitting cornerbacks in the league. Given Hill’s size compared to him, it was bound to be a hard hit and the Pro Bowl receiver fell to the ground. Good thing that Hill cleared it up before being hit again during practice.

The Dolphins had to make moves to get star players given the division they are in. Miami has to face the Bills, the Patriots with a real offensive coordinator, and Aaron Rodgers-led Jets (if it ever happens) twice. Now, their roster resembles one that can be as formidable as they come to try and survive in the division and come out on top. Let’s see how the Dolphins perform in the coming season.
