The Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin made an appearance at the Super Bowl to honor medical professionals of the UC Medical Center, who saved his life. However, the former Minnesota Vikings’ legendary running back Adrian Peterson had issues with Hamlin’s custom-made jacket. The Bills DB wore a jacket with the image of Jesus Christ on the front and an image of a crucifix at the back, which didn’t sit well with Peterson.

The 24-year-old safety suffered a cardiac arrest on the field during a Monday Night Football game between the Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals during week 17 of the NFL regular season. He was resuscitated on the field by Bills athletic trainers before he could be transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further treatment. The Game was suspended, and the league had to find other ways to make up for that last game.

Furthermore, the Bills’ safety spent a lot of days at the hospital before he could be discharged to recover from his home. And now, the Bills DB is still recovering from the surgery and decided to make an appearance at the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. But his outfit with Christian images irked the Vikings legend, Adrian Peterson. The jacket Jesus’ image with the message “Without end or beginning there is no day and there is no night.”

Adrian Peterson, a devoted Christian himself, sounded off on the jacket and called it blasphemous via social media “You should be thanking God, son! This is Blasphemy!! We all fall short but cmon man! I find this disrespectful!!,” wrote Peterson on Instagram.

Following the backlash over his comments about Damar Hamlin’s custom-made jacket, the Vikings legend Adrian Peterson reached out to the Bills DB to make amends with him.

“So I spoke with [Damar], and we were able to discuss our thoughts as men. I want to be clear, I’m the last person to judge anyone, and that was never my intention,” wrote Peterson. However, the former league MVP revealed that he still feels that the jacket is disrespectful.

“However, I do feel as if the jacket was disrespectful and it was something that I needed to share. I do realize everyone makes mistakes and falls short at times, so again, my intention was never to judge, just to share my opinion,” wrote Peterson.“I apologize for offending you.”

According to multiple reports, the custom-made jacket was designed by the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and costs around $3k. It is unsure what ticked off the legendary running back, but whatever it is, it certainly didn’t come from any ill intent since Damar Hamlin himself is a devoted believer and has continuously praised Jesus Christ on several occasions.
