“We don’t have an Odell Beckham Jr.or a Cooper Kupp,” Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields confident of his franchise’s WR resources despite lacking big names

Justin Fields has taken rapid strides in his NFL career and is all set to start as the first choice quarterback for the Chicago Bears in the upcoming 2022 season. After being drafted in the 2021 NFL draft, he played out the last year as the backup to Andy Dalton.
However, this season Justin Fields will have to pick up the reins at the franchise, but there has been widespread concern that the Bears have not given him enough resources to reach the goals set by the franchise.
Justin Fields has plenty of confidence in himself and his teammates to make it a good season for the Chicago Bears

The wide receiving department of the Bears has seen a major overhaul from the previous season after they lost Allen Robinson to the Los Angeles Rams and Jakeem Grant and Marquise Goodwin to the free agency. Despite these losses, Justin Fields is confident that he will be able to make do with the players at his disposal and that the franchise does not need big-name players to achieve its goals.
“We don’t have an Odell [Beckham Jr.] or a Cooper Kupp on our team, but at the end of the day I think if everybody is on their P’s and Q’s, and we’re on top of everything and not making mistakes, the players we have right now are good enough,” Justin Fields said last week in an interview with Bleacher Report.
“The front office thinks that, too. The fans outside of the facility don’t know what’s going on at practice. Just because we don’t have a big-name guy doesn’t mean those guys aren’t talented. I have plenty of confidence in myself and my teammates that we’re going to get the job done.”
“I’m more comfortable this year,” he said. “I kind of know what’s coming and know what to expect. … Me not knowing if I’m going to be the leader of the team or not last year compared to this year means a whole different mindset. Just comfortability and knowing that I’m going to be the guy and that this is my team is definitely a different mindset as I try to be a leader for everybody on the team.”
