With Damar Hamlin‘s cardiac arrest on the field after he tackled the Bengals WR Tee Higgins, the NFL canceled the week 17th Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals game. Further, Hamlin was rushed to the Cincinnati medical center and was given the best medical assistance. He is currently out of danger and has been discharged from the hospital and will continue to rehabilitate at his home.

The NFL on Thursday announced that the AFC is going to take place in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is selected as the neutral site for the potential Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs’ AFC championship game. The game is scheduled to be held on 29th January.

This agreement to play on the neutral site was made keeping in mind the competitive inequities created by the cancellation of the week 17th game.

“We are heartened by the continued improvement and progress of Damar Hamlin in his recovery, and Damar and his family remain top of mind for the entire NFL community,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.

“We are also grateful to Arthur Blank and the Atlanta Falcons for agreeing to host the AFC Championship Game in Atlanta should the Bills and Chiefs advance,” said the Commissioner.

The team Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills will be showing off their top-plays in the wild-card game on Sunday whereas the Kansas City Chiefs will enjoy a playoff bye week.

The championship is going to be held on January 29th at 6:30 p.m. ET.
