The Dallas Cowboys got off to the worst possible start to their new NFL season with a 19-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the season opener but also have an injury concern up their sleeves with starting quarterback Dak Prescott suffering a fracture in his thumb.
Dak Prescott will be required to undergo surgery on his injured thumb and this will keep him out of action for several weeks. The Dallas Cowboys will be having Cooper Rish as their number 1 quarterback for the next fixture against the Cincinnati Bengals and Will Grier who’s the number 3.
Dallas Cowboys fans want Jimmy Garoppolo to be traded in for Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott injured his thumb while attempting a pass and clashed with outside linebacker Shaq Barrett. At first Prescott didn’t understand the extent of his injury but after returning to the locker room he knew it would require surgery.
It’s obvious that the Dallas Cowboys fans are extremely disappointed to lose Dak Prescott in the first week itself and they took to Twitter to express their concern. Some even suggested that the Cowboys should bring in Jimmy Garoppolo in place of Prescott!
“It’s very disappointing, but injuries happen, can’t necessarily control it, just unfortunate,” Prescott said. “Obviously going to miss some time, not be there for my team and that’s what hurts more than anything, especially after the start we just put out there. Wanted to be able to respond, and not necessarily having that opportunity for several weeks, yeah it’s unfortunate. But I’ll do what I’ve always done anytime adversity comes, take it on head-first and give my best and I’m sure I’ll come out of this thing better.”
