If there’s one thing that athletes fear the most, it’s picking up an injury. If that injury is not too serious, it will take a very short time to recover. However, if the injury is bad, then it will take a good chunk of time out of your playing career. Buffalo BillsVon Miller has found that out the hard way. The outside linebacker tore his ACL in a game against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. Miller tried his level best to return before the 2022 season ended. But he had to go through surgery in December, which ultimately ended his season prematurely.

Miller, who wears the No. 40 for the Bills, slipped during the 2nd quarter and had to be taken off. This is not the first time Miller has sustained an ACL injury. He had surgery in 2013 while playing for the Denver Broncos.

According to the Bills star, his prior injury knowledge is helping him recover the second time around. Miller, while talking to 9News in Denver, revealed that “in 2023, I have a whole new outlook. I know exactly where I’m supposed to be at two months, four months, and six months.”

The two-time Super Bowl champion claimed that he will be ready before the season begins. “I feel great; I feel comfortable. I feel like I’ll be ready to go at the start of the season.”

The 34-year-old needs to recover quickly if he wants to play in the first game, as the Bills will face Aaron Rodgers‘ New York Jets on Monday Night Football. Even if he doesn’t make it in time to play the early matches, he can still join them in his expected week 6.

The eight-time Pro Bowler says he is itching to play against Rodgers: “I want to be ready for week 1 vs. the Jets. Aaron Rodgers.” However, Miller acknowledged that whether he will be allowed to play against the Jets is not in his hands. “I’m not in control of that {talking about his injury}. I’m going to do everything I can physically, mentally, and emotionally to be ready for that.

If it really takes Miller until the 6th week of the NFL season to completely recover, then the Bills will likely keep him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the beginning of the season. That doesn’t make it ideal for the other Bills or for Miller.

Then again, if he delays his return and makes Bill reach the playoffs, it may even grant him the opportunity to play against the Broncos.
