NFL fan fights have been a recurring theme in the last few weeks. There have been so many fan fights at the NFL games during the 2023 regular season through just the first eight weeks. In that trend, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders fans were involved in a vicious brawl at the FedEx Field, where both NFC East teams battled it out on the field on Sunday.
In two separate videos shared on social media by an X user named MLFootball, nearly half a dozen Eagles’ fans viciously fought with some Commanders fans in the stands of the FedEx Field. Furthermore, an Eagles fan could be seen repeatedly punching a seemingly unconscious Washington fan before getting kicked and jumped by other Commanders fans.
Also, a Jalen Hurts-jersey-wearing Eagles fan — who jumped in the middle of chaos to stop the fight — got knocked out by another Philadelphia fan, who was wearing a DeVonta Smith jersey. Both parties continued to beat each other as many people stood by and recorded the fight.
Towards the end of the video, security can be seen breaking up the brawl and escorting some people away from the stadium. The video of the vicious brawl went viral and accumulated more than 466k views within hours. Some fans expressed concerns over the increasing amount of fights and brawls in stadiums this season.
Another fan fight happened in the same Eagles-Commanders week 8 game
In a separate incident that happened during the week 8 game between the Eagles and the Commanders, another brawl broke out, which involved more than half a dozen fans.
In a video that is surfacing on social media, several Eagles’ fans could be seen punching a Commanders’ fan. One Philly fan even put the Washington fan on a headlock towards the end of the video. People could be heard cheering for the fight in the stands.
Including these two fights, there have numerous dangerous fan fights that have been taking place in NFL games. People are appealing to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to take some action to stop the violent fights from happening inside the stadiums.
On the sporting side of things, the Eagles took care of business at the FedEx field, as they managed to secure a comeback victory against the Commanders in their week 8 matchup. With that victory, the Eagles currently have the best record in the league with 7 wins and just a single loss. Next, they will square off against their division rivals Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
