Noah Knigga is making headlines. Yes, there’s no need to be triggered here; that’s his name. The college football recruit out of Lawrenceburg High School (Indiana) also stars on the school’s basketball and baseball teams. Knigga with a ‘K’ has piqued the interest of several top programs, which include West Virginia, Miami (Ohio), and James Madison.
The outside linebacker not only has a GPA of 4.0, but he was also chosen as one of the 2023 All-State Top 22 Underclassmen. Yet the only thing that most people will focus on is his name. There are countless people with innovative names, but is the ‘K’ silent? Then how does one even pronounce his name in public?
It’s hard to imagine how Noah’s teachers and friends first reacted upon hearing his full name. More importantly, it’s curious what his Black friends think of his last name. Since he announced his plans to tour several football programs across the country, the only thing people can talk about is his name. Heck, even former players took notice.
Retired journeyman linebacker and contributor to the Barstool Sports Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, Will Compton, just had one word to express his thoughts.
In the comments section of the post, Noah asked to appear on Compton’s show. He hasn’t replied yet, but doubt he will miss out on the opportunity.
Noah Knigga wants to be like T.J. Watt
Ryan Knigga, Noah’s father and also the head coach of the Lawrenceburg High School Tigers football team, is a great motivator for his son. There’s another role model that Noah looks up to and has aspirations of emulating in the future.
That individual is Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro pass rusher T.J. Watt. In an interview with Tristatefootball.com, Noah said he aimed to prove that he was not just the coach’s son.
There is pressure being the coach’s son. Every day, I want to live up to that pressure.
Not only that, he wants to be an inspiration for the guys who will come after him.
I’m just trying to work as hard as I can to be an example for the young guys.
As per Hudle.com, Noah Knigga finished his junior year for the Tigers with 7.8 tackles per game. Moreover, there were 13 tackles for fumble losses, along with 3 sacks. It will be interesting to witness the future of the 17-year-old who is already a household ‘name’.
