Trevor Lawrence has apparently poked the bear. He called the Pittsburgh Steelers ‘Terrible Towels’ as ‘little yellow towels‘ in his recent press conference. It was all in fun and games of course, however, the Steelers fans don’t think so. They think Lawrence has gone too far and he will face the consequence of the cursed towels. Scary times for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Steelers and the Jaguars will play each other on Sunday and the atmosphere for that game will be electric. Lawrence was asked about the Steelers’ yellow towels and he had a cheeky response to that. He also said all the right things about the organization, the city, its fanbase and the players. However, former Pittsburgh Steeler, Willie Colon felt the disrespect about the towels and was mad about it.
Colon said on the latest episode of The Carton Show:
These d*** millennials right. You can't say that on national television. When he comes out [of] that tunnel, it's going to be a sea of yellow towels. They're gonna strangle them with those yellow towels. It's a historic towel. It's one of the most popular towels of all the towels. This is a religion. This isn't just a little towel.Willie Colon on The Carton Show
The Steelers are 4-2 through seven weeks of the season. They had a bye in week 5 and won their week 6 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at the SoFi Stadium. The Jaguars on the other hand pulled off an impressive victory on the road against the New Orleans Saints and are 5-2 this season. The Sunday matchup between these two teams is going to be spicy.
Trevor Lawrence ‘questionable’ for the Steelers game on Sunday
Trevor Lawrence was limited at practice this week. Although he played against the New Orleans Saints on October 19, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been dealing with Lawrence with caution. The talented QB suffered a left knee injury in the Jaguars’ win over the Indianapolis Colts a few weeks ago.
He had a good game against the Saints, throwing for 204 yards and one touchdown as he led his team to victory. Lawrence also had a full week of rest as the Saints game happened on Thursday last week. He was listed as ‘questionable’ for the game on Sunday.
Lawrence was drafted by the Jaguars first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Since being drafted, he has been one of the best QBs in the league. He led the Jags to the playoffs last season, winning the Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Jaguars are expected to be in the playoffs this season as well.
