“I am disappointed in myself,” Willie McGinest shares a remorseful statement after partaking in a VICIOUS nightclub beat down

NFL Network analyst and New England Patriots Hall of fame linebacker Willie McGinest took to Instagram to share an apology statement after he was arrested for involving in a beat down at a restaurant in Los Angeles, California.
Willie McGinest and his friends were caught on video instigating a brawl and viciously beating down a guy. McGinest was arrested after he turned himself into West Hollywood sheriff station on December 19, 2022. McGinest was charged with assault as he was caught on video repeatedly hitting a guy before smashing a bottle on his head.
“Witnesses identified former NFL player Willie Lee McGinest Jr. as being one of the individuals involved in the incident,” according to a sheriff’s department statement. “On December 19, 2022, Mr. McGinest arrived at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station to provide a statement regarding the incident,” after which he was arrested.The former linebacker was released shortly on bail after he posted a $30,000.
Before his NFL career even began, he was accused of sexual assault by a 23-year-old woman. But after a five-week trial, he was found not guilty on all charges. McGinest then went on to have a successful 15-year-long NFL career.
Willie McGinest issues a statement

Four days after getting arrested on assault charges for partaking in a nightclub beatdown, former Patriots linebacker Willie McGinest has released a statement regarding the incident.
William McGinest started the statement by apologizing for his involvement in the beat down that happened on December 9, 2022. He wanted his friends, family, and the youth he mentors to know that he feel horrible for his actions which he took full responsibility for. He then turned his attention toward his colleagues at the NFL network to let them know that he is embarrassed by his actions and that he regrets what happened that night.
The Patriots Hall of Famer continued his statement by saying that he is disappointed in himself and this incident is not the reflection of his faith or his role as a father or the role model he has worked so hard to become. He also states that he is personally devastated because all of the good things that he has done in the past have become an afterthought in a single moment that should not have happened.
McGinest ended his statement with a message saying that violence is not the answer, no matter how intense the provocation is. He assured that the will take whatever steps necessary to rebuild the trust he lost and he ensured this will never happen again.
