George Pickens, the rookie receiver is impressing everyone with his abilities. The 6-foot-3 player has been a revelation for the Steelers in the training camp.

Pickens was the 11th receiver selected in this year’s draft. He was the no 52 pick for the Steelers as he went down the draft after suffering a massive ACL injury in March 2021.

The second-round pick from the University of Georgia is getting lots of opportunities to shine as the team’s no.1 receiver Diontae Johnson is not practising due to some concerns. This absence has allowed Pickens to build chemistry with Mitch Trubisky. Trubisky was fascinated by the rookie’s game.

“George is super talented,” Trubisky said. “He just has to keep detailing the offense. He’s getting it down. He’s learning. He’s asking a lot of questions, which is awesome, but he’s out there making plays. I’m getting to the point where I really trust him throwing him the ball. He’s made some great grabs. He’s going to be a great player. He just has to keep working.”

You can’t really tell he was injured last year,” Trubisky said. “He’s got great balance and change of direction, but you’re going from a college system to an NFL system.”

Pickens had an ACL injury that put him out on the sidelines. Usually, ACL takes around 9 or 10 months to recover but Pickens managed to recover in 8 months and joined the team in their run to the National Championship.

George has a bright future in front of him and everything to play for, with great supportive teammates and good quality staff, he sure can make his game better than it already is.
