The Super Bowl is truly an iconic event in the world sporting calendar, with the AFC and NFC Champions fighting for the Lombardi Trophy to gain bragging rights. Apart from the world-class footballers who will be on show for the game, the pre-game and mid-game festivities are also a sight to behold for the fans.

This year, ahead of the kickoff at the State Farm Stadium of Arizona, the US Navy will feature a special performance to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of women being allowed to become Navy pilots. The performance will be held right after the National Anthem before the game begins.

Women flying in the Navy became possible only in 1973 when six of the eight enrolled candidates were granted Golden Wings. It was a huge step for the advancement of women in the field of the Navy and continues to be a landmark year in the United States of America.

Lt. Naomi Ngalle is among those who will be present during the commemorative program and she is incredibly proud to represent her team at the big event.

“I am humbled and proud to be a part of a team of professional aviators and maintainers. All of the people on this team represent the hard work and sacrifice that comes with serving in the Armed Forces,” Ngalle said as reported by Fox Sports. “Additionally, I am elated at the opportunity to potentially inspire the next generation of female aviators and maintainers,” she continued.

On the footballing front, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will want to put their best foot forward when the game does start, after the pre-game festivities. For the Chiefs, it would be about aiming for a third Super Bowl title after their success in 2020.

The Eagles will look to end their season, just how they started it with a bang, to claim their second Lombardi Trophy after the one they won in 2018.

Fans, however, are in for a real treat for the whole evening with such great events lined up for them throughout the Super Bowl LVII game, as an added cherry on top of the actual cake.
