Jimmy Garoppolo is the starting Quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. Not an outcome many were expecting after the last season and all the reports of his trades. The 49ers and their fans were all but done with Garoppolo but a dramatic turn of events led to this moment.

San Francisco 49ers weren’t expecting to have Jimmy Garoppolo still on their roster as they spent the whole off-season trying to get a suitable trading partner for them to offload Jimmy the out of favor Quarterback who led them to two NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl which ended in defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Before the beginning of this season, the 49ers announced Trey Lance their first-round pick from the 2020 NFL draft as the starting quarterback and after failing to find any trade partners for Jimmy G, they signed Jimmy to a restructured deal with the aim to keep him as a backup and later hoping to find a suitable partner for him. The 49ers had to change their plans after Trey Lance suffered a brutal season-ending injury.

Jimmy Garoppolo had an average game as he threw 18 completions on 29 pass attempts for 211 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception. During the game, Garoppolo seems to be expressing his frustration at Head Coach Kyle Shanahan and his plays.
