“No special treatment”: Bucs HC Todd Bowles clears air on Tom Brady’s absence from team walkthrough
Looks like Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ quarterback Tom Brady just doesn’t get a break from the media frenzy these days. And when he does get a day off, it too becomes the highlight of the day.
Last week Tom Brady was not seen during the team walk-through as he was busy attending New England Patriots Owner, Robert Kraft’s wedding. Robert Kraft’s wedding was a big surprise as many famous players joined the celebrations, along with Tom Brady.
Back to the games and Bucs suffered an upset against the Steelers, which many tried to connect with TB12, for his absence in the earlier event. But Bucs HC Todd Bowles on Monday quickly shut this by clearing up that there is no connection between the two events.
“He works as hard as anybody”: HC Todd Bowles has high praise for QB Tom Brady
Todd Bowles also praised Brady by saying “He works as hard as anybody”, attesting to the still hard-going football legend’s work ethic.
Todd Bowles also added, ”Special treatment there have been a few guys that have missed meetings and some practices for some special thing that just doesn’t get publicized because they’re not him. It just kind of comes with the territory. You don’t worry about it too much.”
The Head Coach just confirmed that the talk is mainly due to the veteran’s celebrity-like status. Tom Brady’s commitment to the game is the real reason for his longevity and records, a testament to why he is regarded as the GOAT.
While Tom Brady’s records are unquestionable, currently he is not doing well with his injuries. Recently had his right ring finger suffered in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints and a shoulder injury after taking a hard hit in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bowles also provided clarity on this issue, saying, “As far as I know he is healthy. He’s completely healthy.”
That may be a reassuring thing for many fans, but that does not take away the fact that the Buccaneers have gotten to a very sluggish start. The team is not in proper sync or rhythm with each other, which will be a problem for the team if they want to go for a long run in this league.
There are still 11 games remaining for the Buccaneers to get in the right ship. Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face Carolina Panthers next on 23rd October.
