The Las Vegas Raiders hired former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their new head coach. While most of the new head coaches tend to add new players to the team’s roster, McDaniels thinks there is no time to rebuild the team.

The new head coach of the Raiders says he’s content with the current Raiders team that managed to enter the playoffs this season. He’s placing a lot of faith and trust in himself and the team to forgo the addition of new blood into the locker room.

“This certainly isn’t that type of situation for us” – Josh McDaniels to continue 2022 with the same roster

“I don’t think in today’s NFL there’s really any time to do rebuilding anyway,” McDaniels said, via the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “This certainly isn’t that type of situation for us.” The current Raiders team barely made it to the playoffs with a 10-7 record. The Raiders were as good as the 10-7 record might suggest. The team had to win 4 close-encounter matches with non-playoff teams to enter the playoffs.

So, maybe Josh McDaniels should rethink his stance on not adding new players to the team. There is no doubt in McDaniels ability to coach a team to win the Super Bowl. He served as the offensive coordinator for the Patriots under coach Bill Belichick. During his 14 years tenure with the Patriots, he led the team to win all 16 regular season games in 2007 and was also among the Patriots personnel to be present for all six of their titles during the Brady–Belichick era.

During his stint with New England, he left the organization to be the head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2009-2010. His record as head coach for the Broncos hasn’t been extraordinary as one wh=ould expect from a disciple of Belichick. McDanic=els was 11-17 as the head coach of Denver.

McDaniels is setting the expectation that the Las Vegas Raiders will perform better in 2022 than they did last year. He’s put a lot on the line by trusting the team he’s inheriting to win the Super Bowl. Let’s hope he has a good season with the Raiders next season or else this decision will surely come back to haunt him!
