“It Still Hurts”: Patrick Mahomes says he hasn’t recovered from the loss against Bengals
Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes is undoubtedly one of the brightest prospects in the NFL. He delivered several great performances this season but failed to guide his side to the Super Bowl. At the Pro Bowl, Mahomes reflected on the Conference Championship lost to the Cincinncati Bengals.
The Pro Bowl ended 41-35 in favor of the AFC but Mahomes still wasn’t the happiest man. His personal performance in the game wasn’t the best, much like how things turned out for him in the final half of the game against the Bengals. While the Pro Bowl was on, Mahomes spoke to Lisa Salters about the game and the loss against Bengals.
“I’m still not over it”: Patrick Mahomes on loss against Bengals
“They’ve got a couple of good DBs out here,” Mahomes told Salters during the In-Game interview. “Hopefully we can turn them into touchdowns and not interceptions all day and get some cool plays out there,” he had added. When Mahomes was asked about the loss against Burrow’s Bengals, he claimed that it still hurts.
“Yeah, I mean, it still hurts,” Mahomes said. “You want to be in that Super Bowl, but you enjoy this. It’s an honor to be in the Pro Bowl, and so to be able to be in the Pro Bowl with a lot of my teammates, see their families, it’s a good way to cap off the season for us.”
“I’m still not over it,” Mahomes added when asked if he has reocvered from the AFC Championship final loss. “I don’t think I’ll be over it until we’re in another Super Bowl. I’ll have to use that as motivation moving forward. We have to go through the process again,” Mahomes said on asked about the way ahead for the Chiefs.
“You have to start from scratch every single year in this league. You have to go in with the mindset of ‘I’m going to get better and better every single day.’ and hopefully give yourself a chance to be in the Super Bowl,” Mahomes stated.
