Patrick Mahomes, without a doubt, is an incredible talent. The Kansas City’s star quarterback delivered a brilliant performance this season and guided his side to several important victories. The way Chiefs were going, it looked like there was no stopping them from going to the Super Bowl.

Especially after Mahomes guided his side out of trouble against the mighty Bills, it felt like this will be the Kansas City’s big season. However, in the Conference Championship clash against the Bengals, Mahomes failed to replicate a similar performance and his team eventually lost in overtime.

In the first half, Mahomes was unstoppable, in the second half, he looked out of sorts, and in overtime, he was poor. Talking about Mahomes, Skip Bayless made a few very strong points. He stated that although Shannon Sharpe always rates Mahomes highly, he personally doesn’t see anything special in the Kansas City QB.

“I have never been sold on Patrick Mahomes because I believe he’s gotten away with spectacular gambles that have this year, for the very first time, started to backfire on him. No more blissful ignorance, no more ‘wow, this is easy, it’s almost too easy, I got away with that, I can throw no looks, I can throw left-handed passes. I can throw up behind my back, I can throw up between my legs,”‘ Bayless said.

He added that Mahomes think he can get away with all this because he has his coach’s backing. “‘I (Mahomes) can get away with this because my coach blesses me, my coach spoils me, my coach loves this’ because his coach Andy Reid loves to polish his own ego by playing with his toy that he went up in the draft to snatch or steal.”

“He spoiled Patrick Mahomes, it makes Andy Reid looks like even more of a genius. Andy loves to flex with his play calls,” Bayless added.
