“He was better than Patrick Mahomes”: Skip Bayless reckons Josh Allen’s Bills deserved to win against the Chiefs
Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes
The Kansas City Chiefs took on the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round playoff game and it turned out to be a memorable encounter. Till the very last minute, it was difficult to predict a winner. In the last 13 seconds, Mahomes’ magical play turned things in Kansas’ favor.
Till halftime, the game was pretty evenly poised. The Chiefs took a 2 point lead before going into the final quarter but the Bills made a brilliant comeback in the last quarter. At one point, it felt like the Bills will win it, but then again, Mahomes and Co dashed the hopes of the Bills fans and won the game in overtime.
“He played well enough to win the game”: Skip Bayless on Patrick Mahomes
Although the result came out in the Chiefs’ favor, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the Bills were equally good in the contest, if not better. Mahomes scored 3 touchdowns, whereas Josh Allen scored as many as 4. Many evenly claimed that Allen was better than Mahomes.
Skip Bayless also had a similar point of view. “Both of these still young quarterbacks played sensational games but I think Josh Allen played a little better than Patrick Mahomes. He played well enough that he deserved to win the game. It looked like he made the last play but Mahomes still had 13 seconds left,” Skip claimed.
Many would actually agree with Skip as Allen was indeed stupendous. In fact, a little lapse in defense is all that it took to bring down the Bills. Having said that, one just can’t take anything away from Patrick Mahomes either. He kept his cool under pressure and brought his team back into the reckoning.
