“I want to apologize for the insensitive tweets” : NFL reporter issues apology after old tweets resurface

Leading NFL reporter, Annie Agar has come out and apologized for a few insensitive tweets of hers. The tweets which were all made several years ago, resurfaced once again after fans dug them up through their stalking skills.
Annie Agar gained popularity for her viral “meeting” videos during the pandemic which began by parodying the Big Ten conference. She is known for making herself heard with the commentary mic, and also without it.

One of those talked about tweets heavily criticised Colin Kaepernick, for his actions during the American National anthem during an NFL encounter in 2016. She took offence to Kaepernick’s pre-game ritual of not standing up for the anthems and vented it out on her Twitter account.
“I’m so disgusted. This is America and you stand for the flag that gave you the freedom to play football every Sunday,” she wrote of Kaepernick.

She had also slammed former MLB pitcher Felix Hernandez in 2013 for inappropriately wearing his hat on the side: “That’s baseball, not the hood.” In another 2014 post, she mentioned that NFL players would soon be in the would be in prison.
However, she has clarified that those tweets were made by her teenage self and that she has the utmost respect for all players and teams from the NFL. Annie Agar asked for forgiveness from her fans while acknowledging that she has grown massively as a person since then.

“I want to apologize for the insensitive tweets from my past,” Agar wrote. “They were written when I was a teenager and do not reflect who I am today. I have the utmost respect for the athletes and teams I cover. I hope you can forgive teenage me and we can get back to laughing together again.”
