“Everything is on the plate,” Rob Gronkowski offers a massive insight into his and Tom Brady’s retirement plans
The major talking points after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers elimination this season has revolved around the futures of two of their star players, both of whom are rumoured to call it a day. Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady, the two players in question are also close friends on and off the pitch.
While Tom Brady stands on the wrong side of the ageing conundrum, Gronkowski had already announced his retirement in 2019, and only made a comeback to play alongside the veteran quarterback at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Rob Gronkowski wants to what is best for him regardless of Tom Brady’s decision
The abrupt end of the season for the Bucs also meant that Gronkowski might have played his final game for the franchise, given the fact that his one year contract comes to an end this March and there have not been indications to suggest that there would be an extension so far.
This can also mean that Gronkowski, like his teammate and friend Tom Brady, wants to call it a day to his playing career for a second time, but the tight end has not explicitly made it clear what his decision would be.
In a recent interview, Rob Gronkowski was asked, “What your quarterback does, what Tom Brady decides does that factor in, or how much does that factor in your decision to come back next year?”
However, the 32-year old refrained from giving any positive answer and said that he would do what is best for him regardless of what Brady decided. he also maintained that until a decision is announced everything is a possibility but the primary determinant would be on his well being.
“I mean, it will factor in in a situation, I mean I personally, he’s gotta do what he’s got to do for himself and his family, no doubt. For myself, I got to do what I got to do, you know what’s best for myself and see where I’m at and how I’m feeling and all that stuff. “
“So then, once I make that personal decision, then I mean we’ll see what his decision is and everything. And from there, you take in onwards. You can’t really read it or anything but every situation could basically be on the plate for sure, but I gotta do what’s best for myself and then I can go from there.”
