“He can’t win a Super Bowl”: Ryan Clark brutally reprimands Seahawks QB Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson and Ryan Clark
The Seattle Seahawks had a rather forgetful season this time around. With 7 wins and as many as 10 losses, they failed to qualify for the playoffs and their fans were left dejected and disappointed. Russell Wilson, who has been a major part of the unit wasn’t able to guide his team effectively.
Even at the Pro Bowl, Russell didn’t perform as per expectations. Moreover, there have been speculations that the 33-year-old experienced campaigner might end up playing for the Washington Commanders in the coming season as they are desperately looking for a quarterback.
“Russell Wilson isn’t that great”: Ryan Clark
Sharing his viewpoint on Russell Wilson, Ryan Clark had a few very strong points to make on Get Up. He stated that Wilson is good, but is far away from being recognized as the best in the business. “Russell Wilson is a really good football player, he is a really good quarterback, but he is not a great quarterback, he is not an all-time great quarterback,” Ryan said.
“He’s never going to be in those conversations. We have to stop putting him in that world where any team that has Russell Wilson can win a Super Bowl. This is kind of like Big Ben’s trajectory but I think Big Ben was a better football player,” Ryan stated, adding that he isn’t someone who can completely change the fortunes of a side.
“We have to stop including Russell Wilson in these talks that if Russell Wilson goes there this team will win the Super Bowl. This isn’t basketball and frankly, Russell Wilson isn’t that great. He isn’t that much of a factor who changes who football teams are. So now, the conversation is on whether he is an upgrade on a quarterback we have and can he make us a better team,” Ryan claimed.
It will be interesting to see if the Seahawks show more faith in Wilson or finally decide to look for someone new who can guide the boys more efficiently.
